Supersonic is an exploration of the history, design, technology, and lifestyle of Concorde, the supersonic airliner. From its inception, Concorde embodied the pinnacle of technology and travel experience. With the conclusion of Concorde service on October 24, 2003, the 27 years of the supersonic era became a closed chapter in history. This project provides a look into one of the most unique and exclusive of travel experiences, as well as the thinking and design behind it. Concorde's aerodynamic aesthetic remained fresh. Many futuristic objects designed in the 1960s become "retro," but Concorde's aesthetic continued to enthrall. When the final passenger flight landed at London's Heathrow airport 10,000 spectators showed up to view the last aircraft touch down.
