“Story of grammar” is an activity kit for elementary school children based on Kaavad, the storytelling
device of Rajasthan. It teaches children the eight different parts of speech such as: noun, adjective,
pronoun, verb, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection. Each aspect has an introductory
booklet along with a set of activities. I considered various syntactic and semantic characteristics of
Kaavad, unfolding panels, symbols, color-coding, and making an oering to the narrator, and then
applied these aspects as part of the design methodology.
