This cell phone accessory was created to demonstrate National Semiconductor’s newest processors and chipsets. It provides data feedback by gathering ambient and skin temperatures, movement, and skin resistivity data to determine the user’s emotional response and activity level. Data can be analyzed and distributed via local or cloud-based apps. The industrial design was fairly set when I joined the Smartsense team. (Nice work George. www.behance.net/georgeschnakenberg) Although I did minor ID refinements, my primary contribution to this project was mechanical engineering. I created the overall architecture, designing the enclosure, light piping, pcb, etc. and determined the type of manufacturing. The project build was 300 units, 200-250 of which were used in a field trial. Read Less
