This folder contains excerpts from my last two sketchbooks, which span from 2010-pesent. I love my sketchbook, but I treat it like dirt. It's been lost, thrown in the trash, doused in vinegar, spat on and stepped on. In the end, I try to remain as detached to it as I can. In my eyes, it only serves one purpose, and that is for myself to have a place to study drawing and life. I have also at times used it as a journal of sorts, and I will often jot down little notes, poems or short stories in the empty spaces between the drawings.
I love creativity of all kinds, and I look at a sketchbook as a place to experiment with everything. In my experience one only learns to draw by learning to see, and this sketchbook has definitely opened my eyes a bit more. It's not neat, nor is it even that pretty, but if one were to put my active mind on paper, this is how it would look. Read Less
This is some work taken from my current sketchbook, which I have just completed. Most of the images were drawn while riding the train in NYC. The Mediums are all pen and ink, usually just black, but sometimes sepia as well.
