In spring quarter 2012, I participated in a confidential sponsored class project with The Coca-Cola Company. In this project, I teamed with a colleague from graphic design to develop new package concepts for a product within the still beverage division of The Coca-Cola Company. We went through a process of research, conceptualization, and refinement to develop working scale prototypes of new packages complete with new brand identity and marketing/merchandising concepts. We worked with a number of different stakeholders within The Coca-Cola Company to refine the concepts and develop prototypes. I gained experience working directly with a client, understanding their needs, and delivering designs on their timetable, according to their guidance, and within the guidelines they provided. In this process, I learned to persuasively communicate my thinking, both visually and through presentations to the client, and use feedback constructively to improve the final design.
