With the expansion of the Schuykill River Trail into Center City with help from the South Street Bridge, this building located along the Schuykill River south of Chestnut Street, would serve as a Welcome Center for various runners and bikers.
Due to the fast expansion of this trail, the center would be used as a major point of interest that would house the essential necessities for the trail, as in bathrooms and a bike repair shop, become a corporate headquarters for the commission with the use of offices and a conference room with panoramic views along the river, and lastly be a fun place to just hang out with friends or family with the use of the canoe station, the green roof cafe, and being able to enjoy an outdoor movie night by sitting on the hill at the south end of the center.
