San Giorgio Hotel /
Paraga Beach, Mykonos
Our goal was to create a place that has a laid-back atmosphere, even exuding ease and lightness. Nothing should be obtrusive so that the materials and furniture can tell their own stories. We combined weathered surfaces, furniture and fabrics that were handmade and produced by traditional methods, vintage pieces from Athen’s flea markets and dealers of antique building materials. For example, the wall behind the reception is composed of old shutters – an homage to Greece.
Harmony was a major theme. We wanted to bring warmth and radiance into the spaces, yet keeping the overall lightness and airyness.
My favorite space is the Secret Garden, a palm garden that lies just below the pool – the nature is a bit untamed but that’s what gives it charm and creates a fabulous place to chill out in a hamm
