'Fontsmith' is a leading London based type design studio founded in 1999. The studio consists of a team of creatives, and is dedicated to designing and developing high quality typefaces for both independent release as well as bespoke fonts for international clients. One such font of theirs is 'FS Sinclair'. Inspired by the 1980’s game console the ZX Spectrum, 'FS Sinclair' is a technical type that all geeks will love to use on their gamer blogs. The brief was to create a promotional booklet, one which highlighted the key features of the font's design, and its diverse family. The idea behind the booklet was for it to be sent to design agenties, and for them to hopfully purchase the font and possibly others from 'Fontsmith'. Read Less

The brief was to create a promotional booklet, one which highlighted the key features of the font's design, and its diverse family. The idea behind the booklet was for it to be sent to design agenties, and for them to hopfully purchase the font and possibly others from Fontsmith.
Sinclair Booklet Cover
The design for the booklet is inspired by the shape and appearance of the ZX Spectrum, such as the 4 colourful stripes in the lower right hand corner. The pages of the booklet are shaped with one of the corners cut, so that they create the stripes on the cover.

Here the reader of the booklet is able to see all the different weights and styles that the font comes in, from light, regular, medium to bold . If they wish not to keep the whole booklet, this section is perforated, so it can be removed and kept separately for future reference.
