Ministers and key stakeholders of Radio New Zealand considered the company to be a well-performing public service broadcaster valued primarily by a limited group of listeners. Our goal for this Report was to encourage them to appreciate that the rich, diverse cultural value Radio New Zealand delivers reaches well beyond its listener base. In fact Radio New Zealand’s work gives so many aspects of New Zealand’s culture a deeply valued voice. The annual report uses vignettes and testimonials to highlight this and to tell the stories of the many organisations, groups and individuals who benefit daily from Radio New Zealand’s offerings. Through this Report, Radio New Zealand becomes a voice for and to writers, musicians, performers, the Pacific and those wanting to learn more about the world around them. Read Less
