We were offered the job of redoing the promo design work for a new UK tour of the theatre production RENT. The visual direction we took referenced the DIY/Punk Fanzine aesthetic that was prevalent in the Bohemian East Village of New York City in the late 80's (when the story is set). A lot of the backing visuals in the actual production are also in the same vein so this kind of felt right for the promo work to be consistent in its reference points. We also strictly limited it to a lo-fi two colour palette of black and fluoro pink.
We tweaked and simplified the existing version of the logo and designed A5 folding flyers and Adshel promo posters. None of the design work was accepted though so it'll never physically see the light of day. Real shame. You can get tickets to the UK tour here.
