• An earthquake generates a series of seismic waves that travel through the interior or near the surface of the Earth. This animation produced in conjunction with KQED's QUEST Series, walks viewers through an easy to understand introduction to Earthquake basics and different seismic waves.
I designed the animation in a simple, playful and whimsical style geared towards young adults and children. Along with the animation, I designed a system of icons that represent both the different Earthquake categories and wave types.
The end goal was to design a visually entertaining animation as well as articulate complicated quake concepts and terminology to kids.
