VCF does medical outreach mission to Soc Trang Province
On October 16, 2010, a team of health specialists and Vina Capital Foundation Staff  staff went to Soc Trang Province to conduct patient outreach and screenings. These black and white photos were selected from hundreds taken by freelance photographer Morgan Ommer (http://www.morganommer.com).
Soc Trang Province, Vietnam – A Ho Chi Minh City-based medical outreach mission journeyed to Soc Trang Province in the Mekong Delta region on October 15-16, 2010, to screen rural province children for congenital heart defects.

Waiting room at the Soc Trang Public Hospital. the young woman has a  severe heart disease. Mother and daughter have just found out that an operation on the young woman is too dangerous. . the only remedy left for her are painkillers. The family grows coconuts in the Mekong Delta and most probably cannot afford the medication.
