Create the packaging label design for a new product be launched into the alcohol, beers, spirits and wine retail industry – Honey Mead, a beverage that was popular centuries ago before the Middle Ages. The brand is built around the celtic lore of the great Queen Boudica, who led a revolt in 61 A.D. against Roman invaders who sought to eliminate the native cultures of Britannia. The main illustration of the Boudica Warrior Queen was originally supplied, as was the main copy for the marketing collateral. My challenge was to create the product label and printed sales brochure that would educate and market the Mead product to the North American demographic, as well as capture the meaning, spirit and the history of this historical warrior queen, Boudica. Utilizing the Irish style font for the main title, as well as illuminated characters and gothic typefaces, I designed a bottle label that has impact as well as style. The finished label is printed with colour foils, giving it dimension and shelf appeal. Read Less
