Void
Abruptly the sound ceased. 13.7 billion years ago. What remainedwas the start of everything as we know it today.
Emergence
450-400 Million Years ago the first non-plant life on land appeared– arthropods. From this meagre start theoldest human family member appeared around 4.5 million years ago.
Awakening
The hand - an instantly recognisable shape, a distinct traitof ‘man’, literally the point of connection between all races. Even 40,000 years ago, this was understood asa symbol of ‘being’, and a means of leaving ones indelible mark on the worldthough artistic expression.
Light
The enlightenment and the progression of man - one of themost productive periods of science & philosophy in all of man’shistory. The 17/18th Century produced someof the greatest theories and experiments which served to advance mankind. None more so than ‘Optiks’ by Sir IsaacNewton which is one of the major scientific works in history which disclosedthe experiments conducted by Newton in the field of optics and refraction oflight.
Chaos
Financial crisis, escalating nuclear proliferation, foodshortages, water scarcity, war, global warming – all hallmarks of the impact ofmankind on the planet and fellow man. Now more than any other time could be termed ‘unpredictable’. As systems get larger, states fail, corporations trump government, people get supressed, the backlash grows andoverspills into a reactionary force against the ‘systems’ that no longer holdthe future promise of what was once taken for granted. Especially by a growingdisenfranchised, disillusioned more questioning iME generation that has thepower of the internet to disseminate and discern opinion.
