Postcards from Ricketts Glen
A single days trek down the Falls Trail
Ricketts Glen State Park is unparalleled in its ability to attract Photographers and Hikers alike.  The park spreads itself over 13,050 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia Counties in Pennsylvania.   Ricketts Glen has been  designated a National Natural Landmark and with just cause.  Within the confines of the park is the 7.2 mile Falls Trail that boasts an outstanding 22 named waterfalls, the highest of which is the 94 foot Ganoga Falls.   Creeks cascades down through the Glens over the rock cleft hillsides forming the  free-flowing waterfalls surrounded by growth timber and diverse wildlife.

This is a scenic area not to be missed.   Keep in mind that the Falls Trail is rated "very difficult" and requires several hours of commitment.    As there are two legs of the trail you may want to focus on one leg  on a single visit.  I strongly suggest starting from the top and working your way down either leg.
