As part of a fully-integrated marketing campaign the Post Office® is informing the UK of what they’re
doing to help make Christmas a little easier this year. The campaign launched this week in Print, Outdoor,
Online and in Post Office branches.

My role was to develop the look and feel of the ads and create artwork that could be adapted and translated
across many different media. The focus was to mix the traditional and contemporary to produce warm, Christmas spirited drop caps for the copy campaign and a range of supporting backgrounds.

- No. 1 -
Letterpress style drop caps.
- No. 2 -

- No. 3 -
Some complete Ads

- No. 4 -
A selection of drop cap sketches

- P R O C E S S  I N F O R M A T I O N -
As is often the case with my work each design was first produced and developed by hand. Once signed off by Dare and the Post Office I would scan the artwork into the computer and the skecth was then used as a guide and redrawn in illustrator to create individual vector shapes. Each shape was cut and pasted into Photoshop. From here I could use it to define areas of texture, such as the paper stock, gold foil or coloured ink. To finalise the effect of letterpress a careful mixture of inner shadows and bevels were applied to each layer in selected areas to mimick the rise and fall of the paper when pressed.

Thank you for taking a look.
