The predominant presence of the internet and digital photography has had a profound effect on the art world in recent years. With millions of images available to us through search engines and social networking sites, our resources and means of inspiration have expanded from the immediate world around us to the entire planet. With the new-found ability to search and download imagery that is not of our own creation and use it at our disposal, we are now able to re-construct imagery with a whole new context completely removed from the intentions of the original image-maker, whether intentionally copied or subconsciously influenced. In my work I intend to explore my relationship to the imagery that saturates my view of the world on a daily basis and the work I produce as a result of this, as well as continuing to experiment with combining traditional techniques with digital media.
