Studying abroad in Germany has greatly influenced my current artwork. For this painting, I wanted to implement strong lines and heavy, deep colors to convey the idea of German artwork. I also pulled ideas from different photographs of places I visited will living abroad. Most of my art is a collage of memories transformed into a connected abstract space. Instead of painting on typical canvas, I opted for textile fabric with a grid pattern to add a unique twist. Read Less

At this point I was nearly finished with this project, but still struggling with the layout of the bottom of the painting. You can also see my stack of paintings behind. The corner studio was fairly cramped since I like painting larger paintings, but that just makes things more interesting!
