When I first stepped on the soil of Cusco, Peru, I realized that I was truly a stranger in a strange place. Well, the place was not strange to the Peruvians, but it was for a woman from the US who was looking through the American glasses. I was the minority as I was surrounded by indigenous Peruvians. It was somewhat a strange feeling because I’ve never experienced being a minority in an area; however, at the same time, I learn how it feels to have a different skin color from the majority of the population.
