The creative muse just can't seem to leave well enough alone. After killing myself with all sorts of paying gigs I am forced back to my drawing board with any number of other projects that are demanding to be born. In many ways these are my favorite assignments because the only client they need to please is me, and since they have no real purpose they can because as large or small as my whim dictates. Read Less

I took a fancy to the idea of the "semi-permanent" concept sketch, and often play with paint on porcelain, including tile. This is a series based on booths that once graced the Northern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire.

I am addicted to the "idea" of filling sketchbooks and have several laying around. To keep focused I give each a theme, this one is entirely made up of Robot sketches, this was my favorite image so far.

This was my first attempt at painting on tiles, which also gave me my first experience selling on Etsy.com

I have to mutter a small curse at JK Rowling for her Harry Potter series. The pictures that populated my head demanded they get drawn before they would let me rest. This is one of a series of black and white drawings of many of the HP characters. I am happy to say I can now sleep happy.

Over the years several friends and I share hand drawn postcards and deposit them in the mail. In a world of eMail and IMs, getting a little drawing by post is like a surprise Christmas in the middle of the year.

Adobe Illustrator is not my favorite tool, but I do admire those illustrators that craft amazing things with it. Every so often I crack it open and try my hand at it, departing with my admiration elevated that much more.

One of many sketches for a friend's ongoing project, this is just one of a pantheon of patchwork covered characters.

My secret childhood dream was to be a cartoonist, until a first year art college professor poured water on my young enthusiasm.  The dream pops up now and again until I imagine being funny 365 days a year and I go back to painting tiles.

I fancied the idea of mixing tattoo art with the world of Harry Potter. Several of these are sketched I did several years back but it too a three day weekend to finally get some color on them.
