Non commercial project | Creating a typeface that inspired from Batik Parang Rusak
A typeface that inspired from Batik (one of Indonesian culture heritage's) called Batik Parang Rusak. Parang Rusak pattern inspired from the big waves that break the coral in the sea. In Javanese, Parang is same as Karang (Coral). So, Parang Rusak can be called the Broken Coral.
The first thing i do to create this simple typeface is simplified the batik parang rusak pattern into a simple form and then i use the simple form as a basic shape to create the parang rusak typeface.
