Paper Portraits
I was looking for a way to reinvent the portrait. I began experimenting with the colored paper common to photography studios in a more three dimensional way.
The result is an ongoing series of “Paper Portraits,” in which the subjects are framed by paper sculptures. The scalloped and folded paper backdrops create a playful and colorful environment with which my subjects can interact. This unique new form of portraiture exists somewhere between photography, sculpture and painting.
