A multipurpose furniture made of reclaimed wood from Shanghai's old town.
Shanghai's old town is disappearing more and more. Big developers are destroying the old quarters in order to build new high rise buildings for housing, offices and shopping malls.
This multipurpose furniture is built from old, reclaimed wood from the destroyed houses of Shanghai's old town.
It's built in a similar style as a a shipping pallet and for easy handling it's set up on four wheels. It could be used as a TV / Hifi rack or with a couple of cushions it could be some additional seating for the living room or a lounge.
The wood on the top surface is old flooring (original color) and the top edge is made of steel profile. The wood is treated with a mixture of bee wax and orange oil.
