Often times the journey to an idea is much more of a thrill than completing any one concept. The following is a look at numerous directions and variations of a film poster for Padre Nuestro, a story of two illegal young men who travel from Mexico to New York in search of a father they never knew. The thickens as Juan, the true son of Diego meets up with Pedro who ends up stealing his identity and developing a relationship with Diego posing as his real son. There are two sides to every story, and in the case of design, many variations on the interpretation of that story. The main imagery used in the posters comes from through lines that address; illegal immigration, fences and barriers that are real and emotional, a single rose, and streets and pathways, separation, deception and things not always being what they seem.
