The Maunsell Sea Forts were small-fortified towers built in the Thames and Mersey estuaries during World War II to help defend the United Kingdom, named after their designer, Guy Maunsell. They were decommissioned in the late 1950s and later used for other activities. Because the fort is located outside of the jurisdiction of any nation it has been used over the years for a number of seditious activities. My task is to imagine a new life for the fort. I have been looking at the Eddystone lighthouse, located 9 statute miles south west of Rame Head, United Kingdom as a case study to help me understand what it means to live and have a job to do in such conditions.
