This delightful 4 story condo in Santa Monica has been a wonderful ongoing project for about 20 years. The chair with the plaid strips and purple flowers started out brown and I think fuzzy, the Travertine coffee table didn't exist or the wooden bowel with the marble fruit.  The carpet started out as a long white shag, the stair and balcony railings were roughsawn wood painted white and the stair treads were wrapped in the same shag carpet.

Here is the same fireplace after a facelift.  I stopped by my favorite tile store,  'Walk On Tile' and asked if they would check the warehouse for something interesting and inexpensive (like left over from a high end job-not enough material for a room but enough for my project).

We found this beautiful Onyx tile, with some careful placement my client got a jewel of a fireplace fit for a queen-other Queens with Onyx famous Onyx fireplaces, Queen Victoria, and the Queen Mary presently docked in Long Beach.
The flowers above the fireplace were recently updated to more vibrant colors and set off the fireplace for a cozy and welcoming corner. There will be more to look forward to as I continue to showcase this delightful home.
