On 22 February 2011, an earthquake devastatedChristchurch, New Zealand. Leaving vacant ‘gaps’ where buildings once stood andhomes, business, schools and football training grounds ruined. On the eveof the first All Whites match in Christchurch since the quake, we transformedone of these vacant ‘gaps’ in the CBD into a community football pitch. The AllWhites were there to launch the space, with hundreds of local youth playerscompeting in a 5-a-side tournament. The pitch was officially handed to over tothe community and remains open today, playing its small part in the rebuildingof Christchurch.
