A swinging between reality and dreaming in an empty field, focusing on instincts.
Published:
According to the “Beyond the Pleasure Principle” by Sigmund Freud, two drives that Man is constantly struggling between, is “Eros” (Greek word for Love), which generates creativity, concordance and genesis, and “Thanatos” (Greek word for Death), bearer of catastrophe, force, recurrence, compulsion and self destruction. This series of images is a swinging between reality and dreaming in an empty field, focusing on the opposition between the life (sexual) instincts and the death (ego) instincts. Black and white struggle to swallow one another, as instincts are set free and Man has no control upon them, like primitive mechanisms that have not been evolved and they are set free into nature for the first time.
