The NYC Spaghetti project began life as a student project at the University of Central Lancashire. We were tasked with finding creative ways to package everyday food items such as eggs, custard powder or in this case spaghetti.
When tightly packed together the spaghetti began to take on sculpture like properties that when placed on different surfaces would create a like for like impression on top. With this in mind we decided to turn our attention to the product itself and the forms it could create rather than the traditional pack graphics alone.
Famous New York skyscrapers were modelled and moulded. These were then placed inside the bases of each box, in turn creating a spaghetti replica on top. This not only highlighted the historical links between the big apple and Italy but also created a unique, decorative - and most importantly - edible keepsake. Read Less
