NMIH. the Newark Museum of Industrial History was designed by a collaborative group made up of me, one interior designer, and one digitial designer as a way to celebrate the rich history of the city of Newark. Our museum focused on three major contributing factors to the growth of the city: transportation, immigration, and the industries themselves which included jewelry manufacturing and brewing. I designed an entry chandelier, wall-mounted lighting, modular seating, and side table that could be utilized throughout the entire space, while the three tiered hanging light fixture was designed specifically for the Industry Wing. The pieces for use throughout the whole museum have an overall industrial aesthetic; however, the Industry Wing light fixture was inspired by jewelry making in both material selection and the way the piece hangs.
