In my opinion dance is the real visualization of music. According to this opinion my competitive project is a pair of posters, which examines, or better analyses the relation between dance, time, light and space based on the given music. Music has a time span, it influences space and similar to light it spreads in waves. Therefore photo is the most convenient medium, for all components leave their mark and get meaning on it. Nevertheless it refers to the dynamical system of Rudolf Lábán, dance choreographer, named Laban Movement Analysis. This system analyses the quality of movement and the possibilities of strength usage according to the following elements – weight, time, space and flow.
Both posters were realized with the same technique, with background music and the co-operation of modern dancers. Therefore the trails of light on the photos are the visualization of the really played music and its duration. This way a photo based information graphic could be realized.
During the exposition time of the first poster classical music was played (Ferenc Liszt: Etude III. La Campanella) and a young dancer performed ballet elements. The second poster was realized using modern electric music (Mu-ziq, Billious Paths, Grape Nut Beats, Part 1) and elements of modern dancing.
