Due to 16:9 format change, the Munich based local channel-family of MünchenTV, München2 and RTL München live reordered a new custom made On- / Off-Air design. To achieve a repositioning of the channel-family on the market, all channels and formats are being branded with a general design guide, for the first time in the channel-family history. The brand new corporate identity reflects Munich and it's people with a little sitekick by using slow-motion as a main design element. The modern, graphical look combined with the slow-motion technique makes the channel identity simply unique. In addition, we introduced a so called "locator" which functions as a graphic base element for all information communicated through the channel-family. Design and concept was created by the Munich based design-collective called "Alpenblick" under the direction of Konrad Wielandt and Holger Geisler. The main breaking point was the budget, due to the fact, that it is a small local channel-family. With a smart concept, we achieved to stay within the tide budget by using DSLR Photo Cameras instead of high end film equipment. Within three month, we took about 160.000 single pictures, videos and image-sequences in docents of Munichs best locations and spots. Konrad Wielandt: "For us, it was a main point, to give the channel-family the branding image it deserves. A branding image, which is very close to local people, modern and refreshing but friendly and honest, but not to stereotype. We tried to find the really special local places.
