Midnight Directives, a very young Belgian band, asked me to design the cover of their first album. The album is called 'In line for light' and will be released in the summer of 2012. With a very dreamy sound and rather abstract lyrics, they developed a very personal style. I tried to design a cover that reflected these features and at the same time corresponded with the album name. The five little branches correspond with the fact that the band has five members. The branches are lined up, 'in line'. The composition of the lines are also representing the little lines we draw when we are counting, or waiting for something to happen. Also, with 'broken branches' as a debut single, I figured branches were very relevant to work with. Read Less

Midnight Directives, a very young Belgian band, asked me to design the cover of their first album. The album is called 'In line for light' and will be released in the summer of 2012.
The five little branches correspond with the fact that the band has five members. The branches are lined up, 'in line'.  The composition of the lines are also representing the little lines we draw when we are counting, o something to happen.
