Creative Director: Pete Jarvis
Client: Warrington Borough Transport
I was commissioned by the Manchester based animation studio Young to illustrate the artwork for a two minute advertisement for their client, Warrington Borough Transport. The directors wanted an American 1950's cartoon modern style similar to some of my mid century design work.
Young drew influence from Warrington’s Golden Gates as the backstory for the concept, developing a king Midas character who one day locks eyes with a beautiful girl on the bus. Different days of the week and tongue-in cheek miss-happenings are then used to convey the benefits of using the Midas card as the king struggles to get to his love interest, always on the same bus.
