Brief: To create a rehabilitative hydrotherapy center in a selected portion of the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA. This project forced me to focus heavily on the process of how I chose my site, bearing in mind the landmarks, relationships between time, space and memory, and sensory input of the experience of my journey. I was charged with interpreting the experiences leading up to and during the exploration of my site, and creating a mapping of information to inform an architecture that would coincide with the programmatic requirements of a hydrotherapy center. By studying the interacting forces of solar orientation, my perceived path to and through the site, topography, grey water collection, accessibility and memory of place, I worked with paper to map iteratively, averaging and considering these quantitative and qualitative forces.
