Client description: For the first time, Madrid will join other cities such as London, Tokyo, Milan, Helsinki, Shanghai, and Taiwan, to host a design festival. Madrid Design Festival is an international festival that floods Madrid with design during the final week of September 2013. The festival occupies public spaces, cultural institutions, and private businesses to display the best of the design industry and promote contemporary Spanish and Latin American design inside and outside its borders. It is an extraordinary opportunity to meet national and international designers and highlight the work of young talents. For one week, Madrid Design Festival expands in the city of Madrid with a series of related events, involving museums, galleries, cultural centers, schools, and businesses.

 

Brief: We were tasked to develop the graphic identity and business cards for Madrid Design Festival.

 

Approach and solution: The aim was to create a bold identity for the festival without making it over designed. We added phrases to the front of the card as an invitation to discover more about the event.
