This shot is of the mountain range east of Machu Picchu in the morning as the rising sun boils off the morning cloud-cover. It was taken from the Incan Temple of the Sun where they would view and measure solar events such as solstices. Just moments afterwards the sun burst fourth from the beneath the mountains. For me this shot really captures that moment of anticipation the Inca must have felt just before the sun came over the horizon and streamed through the window into the Temple of the Sun. Read Less

It was taken from the Incan Temple of the Sun just moments before the sun burst fourth from the beneath the mountains. For me it really captures that moment of anticipation the Inca must have felt before the sun came over the horizon and streamed through the window into the Temple of the Sun.
