The Lumiphone is a musical instrument created from an old record player and inspired by the mechanisms of the pianola and the musical box. Its 4 sensors placed along the tonearm detect the difference between black and white so when a black chip passes bellow one of them, the instrument makes a sound. This way, the user can create a musical score as he/she goes along by adding or changing the black chips on the disk. The circular motion of the Lumiphone makes it a great instrument to create rhythms and loops. It also has a button on the side of the spinning disk that allows for the player to change the sounds coming from the instrument. Read Less
