PLATOON KUNSTHALLE presents a special collaboration exhibition by atomaus artist lee dongi and the street artist from milwaukee, janson rapisarda. this exhibition was initiated by rina yoon, professor at the milwaukee Institute of art and design, who brought together these two artists, who are both influenced by american cartoons and mass culture. lee dongi, who names american artists from the 80's like basquiat and keith haring as his influencers, used to exhibit only in museums and galleries and makes his first steps in a new genre with the american street artist. the artworks they prepared – similar but different at the same time – will be spontaneously applied to the walls both inside and outside of PLATOON KUNSTHALLE. the process of adjusting and creating a new piece of street art can be followed on thenew PLATOON SEOUL facebook fan site, the result of the collaboration will be presented on tuesday, 11 jan 2011.
