We live in an era where global tourism is booming. With an overpopulated industry as it is, the only way to stay ahead of the game is to market cleverly.
Travel Bandits, a free-thinking, open-minded company, gave me the perfect opportunity to explore new avenues.
Instead of treating the readers as dummies by going the conventional route of layout i.e educational pamphlets & brochures, I decided to attempt something unique.
Whilst browsing a particular website, I came across the blog of a regular commuter, who wrote about his everyday experiences on the streets of New York City.
What made this particular blog so interesting was the fact that all his posts were blatantly honest. As the reader it was fun to experience what he had just experienced. More importantly, it made you want to find out what the hell is going to happen tomorrow.
This would indeed be a bold idea to carry over to other forms of media, yet the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Why not create a traveler, who jets from one major city to the next and writes down all experiences in a blog. This makes the material incredibly personal, and those who can relate, reflect back on past experience in that specific city.
