Nave Lamp

Inspired by sci-fi, when carefully observed, it´s formal structure conveys the idea of a space ship,
while emitting lightrays under it structure. That´s were the name "Nave" comes from, meaning spaceship in Spanish.

Discovering properties such as flexibility ocurring due to
substraction, modifies preconceived ideas of material physical properties that
when questioned leaves room for imagination. Is interesting to considere how thanks
to manufacturing processes an inexpensive material such as MDF increases value.

Lamp configuration allows flatpack packaging, thanks to this also provides an
interactive experience and a fun, easy to assembly product for the final user.

The purpose for this lamp was to take materials to its edge, and also to explore
the living hinge, which caught my attention for the flexible properties
it gives to rigid materials.

5 pieces.
3mm & 6mm MDF, digital and laser cut.
