I wanted to question the photograph and different ways of seeing by using average male youth portrayed in strange poses. With very simple portraits create this strange atmosphere in the photograph that will raise the questions of whether the model could be gay and/or autistic. My aim was to create minimalistic portraits with a somehow dark undertone to them. The way you choose to read into the project is then based upon your the clichés you’re trapped in. Read Less

LOTS OF PEOPLE TALK AND FEW OF THEM KNOW
A few of the photographs from one of my latest projects portraying young men, questioning the portrait and the clichés that we are trapped in.

"Homo-eroticism, sociality and autism are also themes which haunt the materiality of the subjects. It seems as if their own human experience is derived only from the whispers, ciphers and incidental reveries of desire and anxiety and not solely from the material world of contemporary communication, commodification or capitalism which we are fed in the mediated hyper-real. Like a phone call that shocks and amazes you, they are somehow staring death and desire in the eyes and embodying a futurity that they have not lived yet but know will come" - Gareth Longstaff
