Mural that fellow artist (and beautiful wife) Roxanne Ortiz and I painted on the side of Kokua Market in Honolulu. In painting each public mural, we hope that our light-hearted and engaging subject matter brings a smile to each viewer's face and creates a framework for positive dialogue. Each mural portrays a unique treehouse skatepark that is innovative, sustainable and entertaining. We refrain from painting figures in our murals so that people can envision themselves living in such worlds. While these elevated and whimsical villages draw inspiration from the utopian ideals of Peter Pan's "lost boys," and the Swiss Family Robinson, they are equally a discourse on urban existence and the need for creative environmental problem solving.
