My main inspiration for this project is the musical CABARET from 1972.
I decided to use the scene, the space, the light-effects that take place on it,millions of flashes in a magical space that sells the visitors the shiniest dreams.
I designed two shoes, inspired by dancing shoes from the 20ties.
Flashing cabaret-lights, colours from diverse Art Deco fashion illustrations (such as Erte, Lepape),
oriental Art Deco patterns, and Cabaret-Girls biggest luxurious dreams and desires,
SHOW, LOVE & FUR COATS.
Shoe Sally (named after Sally Bowles, star-role in "Cabaret"), stands for the apogeum of Luxury of modern girls, Sally dreamed of a fur-coat,
today she would dream of a "LOUIS VUITTON SALLY SHOE".
Shoe Lola took it's name from my nickname, due to the fact that I used my favourite Art Deco pattern designed by Leon Bakst for the Russian Ballet back in the days.
For me it stands for everything i love about those times;
SYMBOLISM, ART NOVEAU, DRAMATIC COLOUR-USE & SENSUAL LINES.
I hope You enjoy.
