These lamps are inspired by Serbian tradition and culture. They are a stylization of objects that are used in daily life. We were inspired by tripod kettle for soup, cause its geometric form gave us opportunity to create new object by easily stylization and minimal intervention. Tripod is also an element that is very present in modern Serbian household: coat rack, footstool, stand variations, etc. However, in folklore culture tripod is supporting element for cooking pots, so we considered that, and it became supporting structure for lamp in our interpretation. TRIPOD LAMP
THE INSPIRATION FOR THESE LAMPS CAME FROM SERBIAN FOLKLORE AND TRADITIONAL CULTURE. THE STARTING POINT WAS TO STYLIZE OBJECTS THAT CAN BE FOUND IN EVERYDAY LIFE.
WE WERE INSPIRED BY COOKING TRIPOD, SINCE ITS GEOMETRIC FORM REQUIRED MINIMAL INTERVENTION AND GAVE A WIDE RANGE OF POSSIBLE MODIFICATIONS THAT WOULD MEET OUR AESTHETIC GOALS. AT THE SAME TIME, A TRIPOD IS A FORM VERY PRESENT IN THE MODERN SERBIAN HOUSEHOLD, IT CAN BE FOUND IN COAT RACKS, FOOTSTOOLS, STAND VARIATIONS, ETC. BUT CONSIDERING THE TRADITIONAL UTILIZATION OF COOKING TRIPOD, WE DECIDED TO REPLACE COOKING POTS WITH FREEFALL LIGHT BULB, WHILE TRIPOD ITSELF REMAINS SUPPORTING STRUCTURE.
