This project was part of NIKE's international footwear design contest, Future Sole, in which I participated the summer before my senior year of high school (2009). After making it into the final round, I was given a brief to design a signature shoe for NBA all-star Carmelo Anthony. I flew out to Nike HQ to present my design to a room full of Nike representatives (designers, marketers, buyers, bloggers, etc). The design was voted the grand prize winner of the Jordan Brand Category, and was released the following year in 2010. Nike gave me the opportunity to meet Carmelo and watch him courtside to debut my design. The shoe was then worn throughout the rest of the season and playoffs. Special colorways were also made for the Olympics, the Jumpman Classic HS game, and Syracuse basketball.
Below is some of the work from the project along with the production model. Thank you for looking.
