I was watching The Karate Kid for the 700th time and I realized that John Lawrence was actually the good guy in that movie!, he had goals, dreams and determination. You can actually see all his good traits from the very beginning!, the very first time he comes on screen at the beach he's offered a beer and he declines, stating that he wishes to get his act together because he only has one year of high school left and wants to get it right! The Karate Kid is a great movie and I felt somebody had to show respect to the most beloved character from the film, the great John Lawrence! I could ramble on and on but Patton Oswalt has already said it better elsewhere. So, this piece is dedicated to everyone that got his or her life destroyed by some skinny, whinny brat. John "King Karate" Lawrence
A poster for the true hero from The Karate Kid film.
John Lawrence — A real champion
Close-up of the face of a champion, a good guy, a guy that wanted to get his act together, a guy that wanted to make it all work before going off to college.
Never knew what those badges were, until I scanned the film frame by frame, each Cobra Kai has his name in his uniform, sensei Kreese tought of everything!
Another detail shot. The face of determination!
Color variants.
This was a labor of pure dorkiness, 80s pop culture, movies, art and just all around good stuff.

Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed this piece!
