Last May I was in Mallorca on a photojournalism workshop. I got the assignment to cover the Thomas Cook Ironman Mallorca 70.3 and I wasn't really prepared to do it. I had only my 5D Mark II with me and 3 lenses, the 50mm, the 35mm and a 85mm that I didn't even use at all.
When I got to the place where the competition was taking place I realized there was no way to cover the event in a normal way with the equipment I had. So I tried to be a little bit original. I mounted the 34mm f2 on my full frame camera, I laid down on the road next to were the athletes were running and started taking images. It wasn't easy, some guys almost stepped on me and it wasn't ease to get clear images on that weird position. But I think I achieved my goal: do something interesting and just different from what other photojournalists were doing.
