I produced this video to introduce amateur astronomers to the rewarding process of astronomical sketching.
Astronomical sketching is an excellent way for visual observers to hone observing skill and record the amazing sights experienced at the eyepiece or with the naked eye. This video provides an introduction to the kind of objects that can be sketched and a rundown of basic materials needed. It then features a step-by-step demonstration showing how to create a graphite sketch of a beautiful pair of galaxies: M81 and M82.
