Being a New Creative, for me, is to make a deal between what is your professional path, that pushes you to keep that way because it commercially works, and what is your real personal path, that instead pushes you to chase that particular feeling of making something new also for yourself, surprising you each time. When that magic ends, and it's just about job, it's not creativity anymore, but just a well oiled technique.

Original work. Made up using the components of Mekkanika.
Detailed view.
1) Unfortunately I've joined the project in a second time, so I haven't made the portrait using the real lights of a projector (and I don't have one).

Tried my best on post productions to create the same effect, anyway, gonna stress some friends in the future searching for a projector on rent and re-create the same process, and then update the project.

2) Stop whining. Let's write about something cool.

The robot face is composed by MANY MANY LAYERS (73). Watch it.

(they're ordered from the bottom to the front, not in order of shape composition, because the structure is always re-arrenged during the making, so the positions could look random, but they're not. just to puntualize, thanks.)

Robot process.
Face process.
Made this set of alternative posters through a complicated path.

I was uploading the pics of the face-mecha-mesh I did for the New Creatives project on my Tumblr page, then I tried to put also the process gifs as I do usual, and as I usually get, there was an error into the upload.

So no gifs, just links.

Then I did the negative version of the robot, put some advise on it, and posted it on Tumblr. The thing is, I've liked a lot this new version, maybe even more than the first, so I've experimented a bit with colours and the results are these.
I've been contacted to partecipate with a selection of mechanical works, including these,
at Steampunk Art 2014, an important steampunk art exhibition in Seul, South Korea, at the IDA Center (you can check their Facebook page here).
Besides large prints of the works, I've also made a short reel to explain all the process.
